Each year, during the last 10 days of August, Minnesota celebrates itself at the Great Minnesota Get-Together - the Minnesota State Fair.
The spirit of Christian Unity is celebrated at the Fair when the Minnesota Council of Churches presents Prayer at the Fair, an ecumenical worship service. Celebrants represent the many denominations that make up the Minnesota Council of Churches, and a crowd of 50 - 70 people come from many faith traditions.
Prayer at the Fair is designed as a celebration of God's creation, and time to rejoice in the abundance of life in Minnesota. The casual service contains the familiar form of church including hymns, prayers and a sermon, but gets into the fun spirit of the fair. We even use our traditional 'bulletins on a stick."
Look for Prayer at the Fair in the State Fair Bandshell on Sunday mornings from 9:15-9:45.
