Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
In January of 2008 clergy of several Christian traditions came together at the Cathedral of St. Paul to pray for the unity of the Church and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Participating clergy included Archbishop John Nienstadt of the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis; Bishop Peter Rogness of the Ecumenical Lutheran Church of America, Saint Paul Synod; Father Youaniss Tawfik of St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church; Rev. Arthur Agnew of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church; Pastor Mike Smith of Redeeming Love Assemblies of God Church.
Music was provided by Heart of the City Worship Band, the Chancel Choir of Minnesota United Methodist Church, Jaquita Morris and Tom West, and Cathedral organist Lawrence Lawyer.
The service was coordinated by the Minnesota Council of Churches and the Ecumenical and Interfaith Committee of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
