"Empowering refugees and asylees to seek, secure and maintain appropriate employment leading to economic self-sufficiency."

Projects

Refugee Employment Network

Refugee Services is part of a consortium of 5 local refugee resettlement programs working to assist refugees and asylees who have been in the country less than five years seek and maintain employment. Clients receive job readiness training, and job coaching as well as placement assistance from experienced staff. Staff develops relationships with employers to ensure smooth transition into the workforce for both clients and employers.

Match Grant Early Employment Program

The Early Employment Program assists refugees and asylees who are new to the country secure employment leading to self-sufficiency within their first 4 months in the country. An alternative to public assistance, this program provides cash, housing, and basic need assistance to participants while providing intensive employment counseling and placement services. The need to access governmental assistance is pre-empted through early job placement and self sufficiency. Clients receive one-on-one guidance with job searching, job applications and employment preparation skills.

Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA)

Refugee Cash Assistance is a Federal welfare program specifically for single adult refugees and refugee couples who are married with no children. RCA offers limited financial support to refugees and asylees for up to 8 months after arriving in the U.S.  Each client is matched with a job counselor to work towards self-sufficiency. RCA participants are eligible for food support and health care from the Government while in this program.
