Power and Boundaries Trainings

Fall 2010 Dates

Join fellow clergy in an ecumenical setting for training on power and boundaries in the congregations and faith communities you serve!

This training is offered on 4 different dates in 3 different regions of Minnesota. 
All sessions are from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Lunch and materials are included.

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010
The Congregational Church, 900 Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, MN
Registration due: September 16th  
Save $25 by registering before September 9th 

Thursday, September 30th, 2010
The United Church of Christ, 1000 Long Lake Road, New Brighton, MN
Registration due: September 23rd  
Save $25 by registering before September 16th  

Thursday, October 21st, 2010
St. Paul’s UCC, 111 S Sixth Street, Henderson, MN
Registration due: October 14th
Save $25 by registering before October 7th

Thursday, November 11th, 2010
Emerson Ave. Congregational Church, 7601 Girard Ave. S, Richfield
Registration due: November 4th
Save $25 by registering before October 28th


The training includes:

  • theological, sociological and psychological context
  • power and gender issues in the pastoral role
  • appropriate boundaries in the pastoral role
  • prevention: vulnerability and self-care
  • implications to clergy of Minnesota criminal and civil laws

REFUND POLICY

Prepayment is required (with the exception of judicatory sponsorship where payments will be negotiated with judicatories).

Full refund of registration fee can be given to registrants who notify the Minnesota Council of Churches of cancellation five (5) working days before the training.

Registrants who cancel in fewer than five working days before the training:

  1. will be allowed to register at no additional charge for a scheduled training within the next 12 months; or
  2. may be replaced at that workshop by a substitute participant with no additional fee, or
  3. will be charged 50% of the registration fee when A and B are not alternatives.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 23 people is required for each training.  A training will be cancelled if 23 registrations have not been received by MCC’s registration deadline.  Fees will be refunded or applied to a subsequent training.
