A refugee who does not speak English should call the number and say “Interpreter” and the language that he/she speaks. The caller will be put on hold while the Crisis Connection staff access an interpreter. The refugee caller should NOT HANG UP. they may be on hold for as long as 5-10 minutes.
This is a good resource to use if you are concerned that the client might get very upset or agitated over the weekend or overnight and need to talk. This is also a good resource for clients who become easily agitated and would benefit from talking.
