Day 1: Developing Clinician Skills in Working with Interpreters

This first training in a 3-part series took place on June 20, 2014. Please see the other two trainings in our series and sign up online.

Any clinician or clinic that accepts Medicare or Medicaid (M.A., PMAP UCare, HealthPartners, Medica, etc) is required by law to have a Limited English Proficiency Plan. The first part of the workshop will focus on completing such a plan (its simple!) and learning about the resources available to clinicians that will cost them no money. Clinicians will learn a protocol for working with interpreters in mental health settings and will have the opportunity to practice with a professional interpreter and a native language speaker.
