On federal budget cuts, a message from CEO Elder Kelly

As millions of Americans anxiously wait to learn if and how the newly adopted federal budget cuts may impact them and their families, I can't help but reflect on how many vulnerable Minnesotans - the disabled, the elderly, the poor, refugees and immigrants, and those requiring mental health or addiction treatment - many of them veterans - will be left without their basic or special needs met.

The shadow of violence will not overcome the light of love

There are few sights more beautiful than children lifting their voices in prayer together. In those sacred moments—full of quiet hope and nervous anticipation for a new school year—they are talking with God in innocence and trust. This morning, at Annunciation School, that holy space was pierced by violence, and our community is left heartbroken and shaken.

Our CEO Elder Suzanne P. Kelly shared with the MCC Board of Directors in October that "we are celebrating the pastoral ordination of our Chief of Staff, Elder Chrissie Carver. Chrissie has faithfully served MCC for over six years while also ministering as assistant pastor at Potter’s House Apostolic Ministry in Burnsville. In Apostolic/Pentecostal tradition, ordination is not merely ceremonial; it is a sacred act that validates a divine calling, bestows spiritual authority, and affirms accountability within the church.
